Manorville, NY- On October 4th, Erik’s Reptile Edventures will be having a special fundraising event at the Long Island Game Farm – Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The money raised will go to benefit Wildlife Kids Club International (WKCI).
WKCI, which was founded by Erik Callender of Erik’s Reptile Edventures, is dedicated to changing the lives of children through nature and providing environmental education to children in impoverished villages in other countries, such as Madagascar.
Mr. Callender will introduce Game Farm visitors to a group of children from Madagascar via Skype and discuss his work that his non-profit has done in that country. He will also perform two shows on the Game Farm’s main stage. There will also be a reptile egg scavenger hunt, a Chinese auction, and a special screening of the documentary, “Doing the Reptile Rumba.” There will also be merchandise for sale, with the proceeds benefitting WKCI.
“This event will provide a fun, educational experience for the kids,” Mr. Callender said. “We hope to light a spark of curiosity in them.”
“We are proud to host Mr. Callender and his organization for this wonderful event,” said Melinda Novak, Co-Owner, Long Island Game Farm. “Erik has entertained thousands of children at the Game Farm this past summer with his array of reptiles. This event will help Erik continue his mission to educate young people worldwide about our environment.”
